Have You Heard About Laser Facials?

The Beauty Beat

If you’re looking for a new powerful skincare routine to combat the effects of aging, consider a laser facial as the holy grail. Unlike many facials and skincare regimens, laser facials are not yet common enough to be universally understood. If you want to combat acne and age spots, reduce wrinkles, smooth skin texture, boost collagen, reduce redness, and promote brighter, more youthful-looking skin, it’s an excellent choice.

What is a Laser Facial?

This proven skin treatment is performed with a non-ablative resurfacing device. (A non-ablative device doesn’t remove the surface of the skin.) The heat and energy from the laser cause a “wound” response in the skin, without creating any visible injury. This prompts the skin to produce more collagen, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and reducing the appearance of age spots and other discoloration.

In many spas, customized treatments like our Time Eraser Anti Aging Facial combine laser facial treatment with powerful skin products and services for specific, specialized, and even more focused results.

Is a Laser Facial Safe?

You may be skeptical at the thought of even your most trusted esthetician treating your face with a laser. Fortunately, many lasers are safe for all skin types and often have little to no down time. There is no skin type or gender advised to steer clear of a laser facial, but that doesn’t mean that everyone should be running to get in line without proper research.

For example, if you’re currently under the care of a physician, or you’re taking antibiotics or any other medication that could cause photosensitivity, laser treatments may not be suitable for you at this time. Additionally, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should always get your physician's clearance before trying a laser treatment. Our qualified professionals are always available to discuss our skin treatments to ensure that you’re offered the best options for your unique needs and health.

What are the Benefits of a Laser Facial?

What's arguably best about laser facials over other treatments is the extensive list of benefits. Most appointments are completed in under 30 minutes, and most results begin to show up after only a few sessions. Results are cumulative, so your skin should continuously improve with each laser facial session. Some of the most common benefits are:

  • Reduced pore size
  • Minimized acne
  • Firmer skin
  • Diminished wrinkles and fine lines
  • Decreased acne scarring
  • Glowing, dewy, and youthful-looking skin

As anyone struggling to find an effective skincare treatment knows, it isn't every day you find one that provides such a long list of benefits.

Although clients will see a level of improvement after each treatment, we recommend six to ten sessions to experience the most significant results. The number of treatments and follow-up sessions is ultimately determined based on the skincare needs of each client.

What to Expect

If you think a laser facial series may be for you, here’s what you can expect at your appointment. When you book a Laser Genesis + facial, first and foremost, you can expect a professional and relaxing experience with your skin care specialist.

Your skin will be cleansed and steamed in preparation for your laser facial, and we will provide you with protective goggles. When the laser treatment begins, you will experience a warming sensation, and perhaps some tingling or a feeling like a rubber band snap.

After a laser facial, the skin may look and feel a bit like it’s been sunburned for a few days. Most skin care professionals recommend that their clients avoid harsh treatments, sun exposure, and scrubbing the skin for two to three days afterwards.

If laser facials are for you, we can't wait to welcome you and show you what all the hype is all about. And BTW, we comply 100% with all necessary safety regulations and protocols.
