What will I experience at a Himalayan Hot Stone Massage?
Our warm stone massage therapy will completely relax you as it detoxifies your skin and clarifies your pores. This effective method of massage incorporates heat therapy and Swedish massage techniques to penetrate deep tissues and increase blood flow throughout your body. Feel your meridians and reflex points ease as the stone’s natural minerals restore your nervous system and give you a sense of health and wellness.
Will I be completely undressed?
It is completely normal to leave your underwear on during a massage session or to request a disposable pair of underwear for your comfort.
Will I be covered with a sheet or towel?
Yes, your therapist will ensure that your private areas are covered throughout the massage as well as the areas not being worked on for your comfort.
The genitals (women and men) and breasts (women) will not be uncovered. If the therapist is going to work on a woman's abdomen, a second towel or sheet will be used to cover the breasts so the main sheet or towel can be moved to expose the abdomen.
Can I talk during my session?
Absolutely! This is your time, the most important thing is to communicate with your therapist. Some people prefer to talk through their massage which is absolutely fine, however many clients prefer to reach a point of relaxation that requires a quieter environment. Either way is fine, but most importantly communicate with your therapist, this applies to communicating pressure preference, comfort level, or anything that makes you uncomfortable as well. This is your time carved out for you and you should feel comfortable to communicate anything regarding the therapeutic massage treatment to your therapist.
How many sessions will I need?
Massage Therapy is customized to your needs and can help alleviate anything from stress to sports induced aches. Many of our clients come as often as twice a week or as infrequent as once per month or every few months, dependent on their needs.
When should I not get a massage?
If you are sick with a cold/flu or are contagious, we request that you reschedule your appointment. This is both for your benefit as the sickness can sometimes intensify with a massage and also for the therapist’s protection. Open lesions, cancer, certain heart conditions, pregnancy, may also cause a change in technique or inability to perform the service. It’s best to discuss with your physician and massage therapist prior to your appointment.
